Baselode Energy has initiated a 1,500-metre drill program at its Bear Uranium project situated in the Athabasca Basin of northern Saskatchewan. The exploration program will consist of 6 to 8 drill holes strategically positioned across 3 to 4 different areas of interest within the project boundaries. Company CEO James Sykes confirmed that field crews have already begun logistical preparations, with drill crews scheduled to arrive on-site within the next two weeks.
The company has implemented helicopter support for the drilling operations, a strategic approach designed to accelerate drill targeting while minimizing ground-level environmental disturbance. Baselode Energy has secured all necessary regulatory permits to proceed with the exploration program, ensuring full compliance with environmental and operational requirements. This careful planning reflects the company's commitment to responsible resource development in the region.
Complementing the drilling activities, Baselode Energy completed a low-altitude, high-resolution airborne radiometric and magnetic survey over the Bear project in March. While final survey results remain pending, the company anticipates receiving this critical data before drilling commences. These geophysical surveys provide essential targeting information that will guide drill hole placement and enhance the program's effectiveness in identifying potential mineralization.
Simultaneously, the company provided updates on its Catharsis Project, where recent exploration included 11 drill holes totaling 2,837 meters across six target areas. The drilling revealed encouraging indicators of hydrothermal alteration and structural features in two additional target zones, suggesting potential mineralization. Baselode Energy plans to release comprehensive results once all assay data has been received and thoroughly analyzed.
The Catharsis Project also benefited from a separate low-altitude, high-resolution airborne radiometric and magnetic survey completed in April. This additional geophysical data will supplement ground exploration efforts and provide enhanced geological context for future targeting decisions. The company's systematic approach to exploration combines multiple technical methods to maximize discovery potential.
Baselode Energy maintains its strategic focus on advancing exploration initiatives throughout the Athabasca Basin, employing innovative techniques to identify and delineate high-potential uranium mineralization targets. The company's current drilling campaign represents a significant step in evaluating the Bear project's prospectivity and contributes to the broader assessment of uranium resources in this globally significant mining district.
